Sophie has a master’s degree in school counseling and clinical mental health counseling. She works with individuals of all ages and specializes in children and adolescents.
She has over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. She believes firmly in client-focused treatment and incorporates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) into her work.
Acquiring additional skills, such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness can help individuals navigate intense emotions or social difficulties. Whether she’s helping someone build coping skills, improve communication, or learn how to manage emotional storms, her goal is to help each client feel safer, stronger, and more connected.
She also provides a judgement-free space to talk, with unconditional positive regard for every client.
Sophie is married and has two hilarious little boys who keep her on her toes. In her spare time, she loves playing music and fixing up old accordions. Sophie also enjoys writing novels, DIY dollhouses, and cooking.
